Tagging is a powerful feature that lets you group contacts based on any dimension you care about. Then you can send Broadcasts only to people who have a certain tag.
Here are some of the ways you might tag your contacts, depending how you use Avochato:
- Geographic location
- Job role or specialized skill
- Related to a particular marketing campaign
- Internal (employee of your company) vs external (customer/vendor/etc)
- VIP customer
- Former customer
- Product interest
Tagging contacts in bulk
You can tag contacts in bulk during Contact import. Go to Contacts and select Import to upload a CSV that includes your contact's Name (required), Phone (required), Email (optional), and Company (optional). In the fifth column of the CSV, you can create a column called Tags. You can upload multiple tags for a given contact by separating them with a comma and a space.
The bulk import option isn't just for new contacts. You can tag existing contacts in bulk by re-uploading them with tags. Avochato will overwrite any existing contact information. Conversations will remain unchanged and will not be deleted.
Tagging contacts individually
You can also add tags individually in the individual contact view. There are two ways to get there:
Option 1. Open a conversation in the Messages view. Click the contact name at the top of the screen, then add your Tag.
Option 2. Click the Contacts view. Find and select the relevant contact, then add your Tag.
